No. Only new drivers who are 18 or older can take the pre-licensing course online. If you are under 18, you must complete the class in a classroom or through a driver education program offered by your school.

The NY DMV requires you to verify your identity at multiple touchpoints throughout the course. You will be prompted to answer a security question and complete simple, secure facial recognition checks.
To maintain course integrity and comply with NY DMV regulations, we use facial recognition technology to verify your identity throughout the course.
When you begin, you’ll be asked to take a photo of yourself using your device’s camera. Our system securely stores this image as your baseline. You’ll then be prompted to complete facial scans at various checkpoints to confirm you are the one taking the course.
If you fail a facial recognition check, you will receive two additional attempts. After three failed attempts, NY DMV regulations require that we pause your course access — but you can retake the entire course at no additional cost.
Once you pass the facial recognition check, you’ll continue to the next chapter.
