About the Course
Attendance of Idaho Online Defensive Driving will bring you many benefits. Traffic citations received in the past or those received recently will have points attached to them. The conviction appears on the record as will the points. Upon successful completion of our course, three (3) points will be removed from your driving record. Notation of the citation will remain, but demerit points will not be attached to it. Idaho drivers may participate in a defensive driving course such as Idaho Online Defensive Driving once every three (3) years for point removal. The three (3) year time restriction begins on the date of the last completed course. You may also complete our course for insurance reductions as well. Check with your insurance company to see if a reduction will apply after you complete our program. Your employer may also want you to complete our program to refresh your driving habits and knowledge. At any time, you may take our course as a volunteer.
Idaho Online Defensive Driving course is 6-hours. Each chapter is 36 minutes. The course is designed for the person who does not have a lot of time. It's broken up into 10 short sections which you complete at your own pace. You can log on and off as many times as you wish until you complete the program. Of course you can also do the entire course in one sitting if you want to - it is up to you.
There are no videos to download in our program and no special requirements at all of your computer. If you are on this screen and on our website, you can enroll and complete the course without a problem.
As soon as you finish the online defensive driving program your certificate of completion will automatically be generated within 30 minutes. Simply log back into the course 30 minutes after course completion, and click on “Print my Certificate.” Your certificate will open in pdf format and you can save and/or print your certificate.
The Certificate of Completion contains three copies of the certificate. Once can be used for the court, one can be turned in to your insurance carrier if they offer a discount for completing a defensive driving program, and the last one for your records.
You are responsible for turning in the certificate of completion to the Idaho Transportation Department.

Policies and Procedures
Contact your court or state directly for instructions regarding extension of your due date (if you have one). Idaho Online Driver Improvement cannot extend your due date.
Do not worry if you have no e-mail address, as one is not needed to take this course. Any correspondence can be directly printed off the program or be done via mail or telephone. On the registration for just skip the email field as it is not mandatory. You may also use a friend's e-mail address, if you wish.
You can't fail as long as you complete all sections of the course, you will pass and will receive your certificate.
