You can click or tap on the video itself to pause and resume the play, however, you will not be able to advance the video once it starts. If you log out in the middle of a video, you will need to start it over once you return to the course.
At the start of each of the games, you will see instructions for playing it. The controls will be different on a computer than on a mobile device. You only need to go through the games one time to receive credit for participating in that activity, however you can replay the games as often as you want.
No, you will not need to watch videos, answer Knowledge Check questions, or interact with anything you've completed previously. Simply scroll down to where you left off and continue from there.
Throughout the course there will be interactive elements that will require that you interact with them before you can move on. That may be flipping over a card, clicking on a plus sign on a graphic, or clicking on buttons or tabs within a screen. All of the objects/elements will need to be activated with a click or tap before you will receive credit for completing the activity.
In order for the Continue button to appear, you must have been actively engaged with the course content, videos, and interactive elements of the course for it to register your progress through the chapters. If you spent time away from the course during a video, you may need to replay that video in order to receive credit for watching it.
Pro Tip: Try refreshing the page to see if the Continue button appears.
The state of New York requires that we verify your identity in order to ensure that the person who registered for the course is the one going through the chapters. In order to accomplish this, we use facial recognition through webcam or phone camera.
During registration, you will be prompted to take a picture of your face. This information is encoded securely in the system and becomes a basis for future security checks as you do through the course.
Then, at random times throughout the program, you will be asked to take another picture of your face. This will be compared with the original one and when the system recognizes that it's you, it will allow you to proceed.
You will need to have access to either a webcam (if you're taking the course on a computer) or your device's built-in camera and allow the system to use it. Don't worry – the image it captures is encrypted, securely stored, and never shared!
You can switch between your computer and your phone, but you will need to log out of one system and log in on the camera-enabled device to accomplish this.
If the system fails to verify you with the camera, please contact the support department for assistance.
