There are many unique things to see and do in Arizona. As such, you may be asking yourself, “Where is Arizona?” If you are, you are likely trying to figure out the best ways to travel. Here are the top four different ways you can get there.
Drive
Arizona is bordered by many different states including California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico. The bottom half of the state runs along the United States and Mexican border. If you are traveling from any of these nearby areas, driving may be the best option for you. There are many different freeways and highways you can take to enter and travel through Arizona. Highway 8, 10 and 40 can bring you into Arizona from California. US 93 can bring you in from Nevada. Highways 80 and 160 will bring you in from Utah. Highway 40 will bring you in from Colorado. Highway 10 will bring you in from New Mexico. And Highway 19 will bring you in from the main Arizona border crossing at the Mexican/U.S. border.
Fly
If you are traveling a long distance or hate to drive, you may be considering flying. Flying is a great way to get into Arizona, especially if you want to avoid getting a ticket that only traffic school will be able to dismiss. Arizona has many small airports for private planes, as well as large airports for passenger planes. The state has large airports located in Bullhead City, Yuma, Flagstaff, Tucson, Tusayan, Phoenix, Mesa, Page and Peach Springs. This ensures that there is an airport located near the part of the state that you plan on visiting. Additionally, all of these airports have one or more rental car counter nearby, which allows you to get a car and drive yourself to your final destination if you so choose.
Bus
If you are looking for a cheap way to travel to Arizona, and you don’t want to drive yourself or do not have a car, taking a bus may be the best route. There are various bus companies that bus into Arizona, depending on where you are coming from. For example, many tour companies will take tourists from the Las Vegas region to the Grand Canyon. If you are not in a touristy area or are not going to a tourist destination, companies like Greyhound have a variety of stations throughout the state.
Amtrak
The last way you can travel into the state is on the Amtrak. The Amtrak is a form of rail travel. The line that services Arizona passes through many states including Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico, making rail travel from these states into Arizona easy. However, if your state is not one that is serviced by this line, you need not fret. You can find the nearest station to you that travels into one of these states and then change trains to make it to Arizona. Amtrak has stations in Arizona located in Kingman, Phoenix, Williams Junction, Flagstaff, Winslow, Maricopa, Tucson and Benson. Once again, this allows you to get to the destination you want to go easily and without hassle. It is also important to note that Amtrak works together with Greyhound buses. They allow these buses to pick up at many of their stations, allowing you access to other parts of that state that do not have an Amtrak station.
If you plan on visiting Arizona, you can travel into the state by car, bus, train or plane. Regardless of how you travel, you are sure to have a great time checking out the destinations of your choosing within the state.
